Kitten Care and Information
Please take time to review our recommendations so your kitten will have an easy transition in its new home.
Your kitten will need a place where it feels safe and secure until it is ready to explore its new home. A small room, like a bedroom or a bathroom, will work. You can also purchase a pet tent. They normally sell between $20-$40. The tent prevents your kitten from getting into things when you are away or sleeping and also ensures your kitten is not eliminating in inappropriate places due to being stressed in a new environment. Whether a small room or a tent is used make sure there is enough space for a litter box, food, water, and a bed. I also recommend food and water bowls that wont tip.
Pet Tent
Keep your new kitten isolated from other pets for two weeks if possible. This reduces the chance of your kitten or other pets breaking with an upper respiratory while your kitten gets acclimated to it's new owners and surroundings. Even though your kitten is happy and playful, it is still under stress.
Your kitten has been raised on Life’s Abundance All Life Stage Premium Health Food for Cats and Kittens (dry) (orange bag) and Life's Abundance Instinctive Choice canned. Allow your kitten to free feed dry. The canned should be offered twice a day. About a 1/4 to 1/2 a can per feeding increase with age. Don't give too much canned at first, as it may cause loose stools. Provide fresh water at all times. Don’t change the diet as it will cause your kitten to have an upset tummy which can also create litter box issues. It is not available at stores but is easily ordered online, use the link below or copy and paste into your browser.
Life's Abundance is not only the best nutrition for your pet but a portion of the profits from every purchase helps The Life’s Abundance Foundation give financial assistance to a rescue in need. If you have any questions feel free to call me anytime.

The kitten is accustomed to using World's Best cat litter. It is a low dust clumping litter made from whole kernel corn. I suggest a higher sided litter box to keep from litter getting tossed out. It’s best not to change litter at first to avoid accidents. Clumping clay/sand litters can cause intestinal blockage due to ingestion as kittens and cats clean their feet by licking and can cause upper respiratory infection from inhalation. They can be very messy and dusty.
Leave the box where your kitten has easy access . Don’t expect your kitten to seek it out.
Once the kitten has adapted to its new home you can slowly transition to another litter of your choice if you choose to do so.
Another alternative is pine pellet litter. I purchase pine pellets at Tractor Supply for $5.99 for a 40 pound bag. I recommend The Tidycat Breeze System that can be purchased at a reasonable price at chewy.com. It's a (non clumping) litter system. No dust, less odor. There are other sifting litterboxes out there. Just be sure to get one that the pellets wont fall thru. The idea of the pellets is the urine turns the pellets to sawdust and can be sifted and tossed out. The pellets dry out the stool which can then be easily scooped out.
Keep your kitten's nails trimmed. You'll just want to trim the sharp tip with pet nail clippers. This will help prevent your kitten from scratching you by accident. Remember to not play with the kitten with your hands. You do not want to teach them that your hands are toys. Use toys for playing. I also recommend a scratching post of some kind. It is instinctual for cats to claw and you want to make sure you have something for them to do this or they will find something to do it on.
Follow my recommendations to insure an easy transition for your kitten into your home.

Give your kitten plenty of love and attention and it will become a wonderful family companion.
